St. Louis Rams Game

Last weekend, Ryan and I took Mac to his first football game.

Our hometown team has been doing pretty well lately - they've won 2 of 4 games!  TWO!  That's already as many games as they won ALL LAST YEAR.  Maybe that's not saying much, but it's big news around these parts.  No, not as big as the Cards making the Wild Card, but pretty big.  Ok, a little big.  Whatever.

Ryan and I hadn't been to a game in ages, so it was a treat for us as well.
Our seats were great - about 12 rows from the field, behind the end zone.

Mac absolutely loved the game and had a great time.  He loved all the action, all the people and the cheering.  Every time the crowd would cheer, he'd squeal right along with them, like he knew what he was doing.  He also loves being the center of attention, so he was putting on "the Mac show" for everyone around us by singing and kicking, blowing bubbles and smiling at all the women.  He's such a flirt.

He only had one little episode of fussiness.  We went out to the hall, he snuggled into my neck and fell asleep while I walked him around the concourse.  After a quick 15 minute power nap, he was back to being a fun happy baby.  I think he even watched the game.

The game was actually great.  Our kicker is a total badass.  He set a Rams kicking record for longest field goat.  That was pretty cool.  The Rams were losing when we got there, but turned things around and ended up winning!  Maybe our little Mac-Man is good luck?

Such a fun way to spend the afternoon.
We may have to go back soon.

The Many Faces of Mac

This kid has so much personality and expression in his face.  As a card-carrying member of the mamarazzi, I love that my little man is already so expressive at such a young age.  He's still trying to figure out the camera and hasn't yet learned to smile (or fake smile) on command, but I usually end up getting a pretty wide range of expressions in any given five minute period.  Here's how a typical quickie photo shoot usually goes...

Hi mom.
What's that thing?
A camera?
Again?
I don't like it.

No, I will not smile at you.
Nope.
Not gonna happen.

You can't make me.

Wait, what are you doing now?
Making funny faces at me...that's not fair.
You know I can't resist a funny face.

I'm trying not to smile...trying not to smile...trying not to smile.
Don't do it!

So hard!

Fine.
Just a little one.
Hey, make that face again.

Don't you stick your tongue out at me, woman!
Two can play at that game.

Ahhhh!  Look at my tongue!
Are you happy now?

Wait a minute...do I get paid for this?
I'm not smiling any more.
You can't make me.

CeCe's Photo Shoot

Way back in May, when I was pregnant (on my due date, actually), I got the chance to hang out with my favorite kids Gus and CeCe for the afternoon.  As part of CeCe's birthday present, I gifted her a "photo shoot."  Basically she got to dress up and I followed her around the house, told her how pretty she was and snapped a million pictures of her.  She got strut her diva-self all over the place and try out those toddler super model moves that only she can pull off.  This was the perfect gift for her because she is a total ham for the camera.  I love it.  She loved all the attention and it was so much fun giving her a special day of her own to be the center of attention.  I hope this is something we can do every year.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Getting ready for her big debut.

Hair and make-up.  Check.

Shoes and bows.  Check.

Girlfriend already has more high heels and sunglasses than me.

Perfection.

Outside for a quick ride around the yard on the bike...

...and back inside for an outfit change.

This awesome little dress was made by our friend Sarah - you can check out her Etsy store here.

Great little model, isn't she?

Then back outside for some swinging.

Big brother Gus had to join in on the action.

Next we moved over to the little red wagon.

I loved seeing them in this because the wagon was a gift from me to Gus for his birthday last year.

Don't you love when kids actually like the gift you give them?

This was right about the time when the tickle monster attacked.

Gus could barely handle it.

CeCe was amused, but maintained her composure.

And of course, remembered to smile for the camera.

She then insisted that her mother and I pull her in the wagon around the neighborhood.
We were less than willing participants in this game.
Her mom had just given birth to twins a few weeks earlier and I could go into labor at any second.
We declined.
Needless to say, she was not pleased with us.

She proceeded to take all her clothes off and refused to take any more photos.

So we bribed her with ice cream.

Which worked.

Third and final outfit was one of her own choosing.

Girlfriend has style and attitude.

Call me, maybe?

Or not.

Photo shoot over.
