New Mommy Confessions - Part 8

We've got a three more amazing mamas confessing on the blog today!  This "New Mommy Confessions" series has been so much fun to put together!  I think I have two more guest blogger confessions posts to do and then we're back to just me bitching and confessing, so if you'd like to contribute, shoot me an email and let me know!  New moms unite!  Spill the beans!  You don't even have to have a blog - just a good juicy confession!  I hope you all enjoy these confessions and make sure to stop by their blogs and let them know what a great job they're all doing as new mommies.  Enjoy!

*I wear the same nursing tank for days.  I wear it to work and end up sleeping in it that night, sometimes I even rewear it again the next day.  Some might think it's gross, I think it's economical.

*I have a really hard time letting other people hold my child.  If I'm in the same room as them it's fine but I hate leaving and not knowing what he's doing when I'm right around the corner.  Separation issues? On my part, yes.

*I'm seriously scared to have more children because I won't know how to deal with them.  Hayden has been the world's easiest baby and I know what works for him.  I'm scared to figure out what works for a different baby.  And most likely our future kids will be paybacks for how good our first one is.

*I am also ridiculously scared to have another child because I don't want to have to share myself with anyone else.  I want Hayden to have all my attention. I think I'm obsessed with my child...

*I didn't realize how hard it would be to bite my tongue when listening to "advice" from my Mother-in-Law, Mother, and husband's grandmother.  I'm sure they mean well, but jeesh! Things have changed in the 20+ years since they have had kids....

*I now refer to my husband as daddy and find myself talking to him through Hayden at all times.  "How was daddy's day today?"  What's daddy doing over there?"  "Hayden, tell daddy to come here."

Annahita from Forever 88
*  Sometimes after I pump I just stop and stare at the milk and am a little freaked out that I make milk. It's still just all a little bizarre to me.

*  I swear my daughter gets more excited when I take my shirt off than my husband does.

*  I have learned to do things I NEVER thought would be a part of my life - including going to the bathroom with another human being in my lap. Don't judge -- when you have to go, you HAVE to go. On a related note, I have peed my pants more times that I'd like to admit in the last six months.

*  I've gotten my eyebrows waxed once (earlier this week) since having Penny... She's six months old. It was BAD.

*  You know something you never think about until you have a baby? Changing tables in public restrooms -   Oh the places I've changed penny's diaper - including but not limited to floor of the bathroom in Chipotle, Banana Republic dressing room, sink at TJ Maxx, park bench, the list goes on. So gross but sometimes, so necessary.

*I have a fancy-pants expensive SLR camera - I did not take ONE picture of Penny with it for the first two months of her life -- ?! The iPhone has ruined me and made me so lazy about getting the "real" camera out.

*  I've become that [annoying as hell] stereotypical mom that shows everyone and anyone pictures of Penny [without them asking]. Anything you say I can relate to a picture of Penny, "it's so cold out today" "yeah, I'm freezing... OH, look at this adorable picture of P in her fuzzy hat, isn't she adorable!" I realize that I'm probably [okay really, really am] annoying but I just can't control it.

*I confess...Sometimes I fear that I have ruined my baby's life because of all the crap television I watched while pregnant. You over there were putting headphones on your belly and playing Mozart. I was watching marathons of Jersey Shore, Keeping up with the Kardashians and Teen Mom.

*I confess...I stuck with breastfeeding for so long because it was cost effective. AND because of the benefits...blah blah blah.

*I confess...You don't know love until you have had to take a rectal temperature.

*I confess...I do not know what I am going to do with a teenager. Yes my child is 10 months old. But teenage girls terrify me.

  1. I look forward to these posts! So good. All your other post are great too. I agree with Annahita on the fact that the iPhone has ruined me with ever taking pictures with a real camera. I have about 5,000 pictures on the iPhone and its all of my sweet baby.

  2. Yep, DH is now Daddy to both of us. Peed my pants...oh yeah! My 2 main reasons for BFing 1. I'm lazy and 2. I'm cheap plus the relationship and benefits, etc...I too fear for when she's older as well. So nice to know we're not alone!
