Toes in the Sand

“The voice of the sea speaks to the soul.”

― Kate ChopinThe Awakening

Mac and I had the most amazing trip to Naples last weekend.  It was one of those epic weekend getaways that absolutely recharges your soul and you come home feeling amazing and blessed and happy.  A big thank you to everyone that sent us good "travel vibes" because Mac was perfection on both flights.  He also slept through the night (all three nights), ate well, played well, loved the beach, loved his new friend and napped like a champ.  I mean, who is this kid?!  He was slightly clingy to mama, but overall he was such a great travel buddy and it was so nice spending a whole weekend having fun with him.  Just as awesome, was being able to catch up with a very good friend from law school and her daughter.  Without going into any details out of respect to her privacy, I will just say that she's been through a lot the last couple years and is one of the bravest, toughest, strongest, smartest, most amazing women and moms I know and I am so honored to call her a friend.  They showed us the best time and spoiled us rotten with stone crab and beach picnics and golf cart rides and waterfront sunsets.  Thank you E&C for the absolute best weekend getaway ever.

  19. Love these pics! And good travel babies. They sure make it all infinitely easier when you think about how much the traveling could screw up your time. And isn't it so fun visiting other people with kids?! We stayed with some mutual friends in Portland who have two sons and it was such a blast. We were on the same schedule basically and it was a special time for the boys too. Can't wait until I have close friends with kiddos!
