Featured in Brides Magazine

It is no secret that I'm madly in love with all things wedding...STILL (nearly 2 years after my wedding).  I still stalk follow our wedding photographer, the amazing Carrie Patterson, and "ooohh and aaahhh" over all the gorgeous weddings she photographs.  Everytime she posts a new wedding I get all excited and jealous and want to do it all over again!  I know I'm biased, but I love our wedding photos and think they are the most beautiful pictures in the entire world (so I'm way biased).  Carrie is phenomenal and we were so lucky to get to work with her on our big day.  Occasionally she will post on Facebook or on her blog that she's being published in (yet) another wedding/bridal magazine and I'm so happy for her.  She's been in all the major publications and had work featured on all the big wedding blogs.  Yesterday she posted that her work is featured in April's Brides Magazine.

And here's the page:

See that bottom right photo?
That's the "S & R Salmon Rub"  from our rehearsal dinner!
How exciting!

In case you don't remember (full post here), Ryan's mom Bonnie has this amazing "secret" recipe for salmon rub that we all love.  We thought it'd make a great DIY favor for our rehearsal dinner (which was a mountain-top BBQ in Jackson Hole, WY).  Bonnie and I spent an entire day making huge batches of the rub, putting it in tins and making our own labels.  We paired it with a plain white apron (that I spiced up with iron-on patches of a trout and wording).  And here's the final product.

I still love it!

The salmon rub was even a bigger hit than I imagined.  So many of our wedding guests have told me how much they love it and beg for the recipe.  We've refilled quite a few tins for people from our extra-reserve stash of rub and it's almost time to make another big batch.  I'm drooling just thinking about it.

So thank you Carrie for this little blast from the past.  It's so fun to look back on this years later and still be proud of all the time and effort we put into the details of our wedding weekend.  Yes, it was worth it.

And go check out Carrie's blog for more gorgeous wedding eye candy.

  9. Love it! I was in Brides too, which I still find completely bizarre. This rub looks amazing, though ... a recipe, perhaps? (Also: major points on the perfect packaging.)
