Fishing on the Beach

As you all know by now, my husband is obsessed with fishing.  And that might be the understatment of the year.  The entire reason we even took this vacation was to fish.  (For tarpon.  And it was awesome.  Pictures will be posted later this week.)

So you won't be surprised to find out that while I was sitting on the beach, reading a book, drinking a Corona and watching the waves...Ryan was fishing.

He only brought about 9 fishing poles (sorry..."rods and reels" - I can't ever get that right).
He stopped at the local island bait shop and picked up some shrimp.
I thought they looked rather delicious.
Hello boys!
And he plopped down to fish.
This is about the only time Ryan can actually sit still on the beach.
Mally was absolutely fascinated.
She loves fishing.
I know this because she told me.
First catch - a little sting ray!
Stingrays are cool!
Mally and I were very impressed.
We wanted to catch a stingray too.
But all we got was this little whiting.
Boring.
After about 10 minutes of sitting down, Ryan had to move.

He grabbed his fly rod and headed out in the sea.

Practice casting in anticipation of the big tarpon adventure to come.
10 and 2.
10 and 2.
Again, we were impressed.
It was a good day.

*Ryan also caught a baby shark.  It so cute!  It had baby shark teeth.  And baby shark fins.  I really wanted to take it home and put it in my aquarium.  But we let it go.  I didn't even get a picture.  :(

  1. What adorable pictures once again Miss Sara! Rods and reels, oh yes, I am with you, they are fishing poles, I get corrected all the time too! :) Mally looks so content, especially in those last pictures with the sun setting behind you. BABY SHARK - NO WAY! Glad you had such a fun vacation! xx

  2. As usual, your photos are incredible!!

And I am so impressed with Mally. Chief and Arthur would have run to Mexico if I let them off leash to romp on the beach. Clearly we need to go to puppy school or something. Do they do that for four year old dogs?

  10. Oh that sounds like such a relaxing day! I have to ask : what kind of camera do you have? I am in the market for a new one and yours takes AMAZING pictures!

You have to frame the ones with you both sitting in the beach chairs fishing with Mally beside you! Great pictures!
